After School Respite
In the near distant future we will be expanding our program to include a full size gymnasium to allow our individuals a comprehensive, healthful experience.
The After-school Respite Program aims to provide individuals with a safe, structured and nurturing environment during after-school hours. We encourage positive desicion making skills.
We provide opportunities to explore and discover their surroundings through involvement of extracurricular activities as listed below:
- Visual Arts
- Socialization Groups
- Recreational Training
- First Aid: Health and Safety
- ADL Training
At NYFAC we serve and support individuals diagnosed with autism and developmental disabilities to grow and develop skills to the very best of their ability.
The program provides and promotes social groups, incidental learning opportunities and community involvement, enhancing the individual’s social interactions and building their self-esteem.
Also, we provide our youth with the opportunity to engage in fun , safe activities that foster individual growth.
The program’s hours of operation ore Mondays through Thursdays only, from 3:00 pm until 7:30 pm. The ratio is four individuals to one instructor. The ages for this program are 8 to 18 years. Individuals accepted must be bused to us from school and be involved with all four days of this program. Parents or guardians must pick up their children by 7:30 pm.
Individuals must be enrolled in Home and Community Based Services waiver. Consult your MSC or call our Intake Department.
