NYFAC Spreads Holiday Cheer for Hundreds

Howard Beach – They danced, they sang, they even got a visit from the North Pole!

On Sunday, December 14, nearly 100 children and their families – 250 people total – celebrated the season at NYFAC’s 2014 Holiday Party.

PS 232 was the scene of all the fun, with food donated from more than 30 vendors, music by MusicFlex, karaoke by Request Entertainment, a photo booth from Fun Photo Entertainment, a magic show by Rogue, and Send in the Clowns.

The day’s big-hearted volunteers included Detective Kenny Zorn from the 106th Precinct, Girl Scout Troop #s 4034, 4992, 4993 and 4989, members of the Chi Iota Omega sorority of Brooklyn College, and members of the NYFAC Board and NYFAC Foundation Board.

Assemblymember Phil Goldfeder made a special appearance, as did State Senator Joseph Addabbo, dressed as the day’s special guest, Santa Claus.

And thanks to generous donations towards NYFAC’s toy drive, each child was able to go home with a new toy to help make the season bright.

“The community truly came together for the children,” said NYFAC President & CEO Andrew Baumann. “And that’s what this is all about. The day’s festivities truly captured the spirit of the season.”
